It's like he read that little ficlet I wrote in the wee hours - Cas perched on the ledge, dreaming of flight. You can read it too, now on AO3:

I'm writing a Dresden Files/SPN/Mists of Avalon crossover, and in the process of re-writing what I've already written - but occasionally, I'll get inspiration for scenes out of order of where I am in the story. That happened today, so I'm posting it here for comment.

Characters: OFC/Castiel
Warnings: EXPLICIT

Setting the scene:
Castiel is worried about Katalina, who bears the mantle of power of the Lady of Avalon and wields Excalibur, a Sword of the Cross and part of the Holy Regalia of Avalon. Cas and Kat share a connection due to an accidental soulgaze.

Prior to this scene, Kat, Sam, Dean, and Cas battled a Denarian named Victor/Samael, and Kat was badly injured in the fight. They are back in the Bunker with Kat unconscious, Sam and Dean asleep, and Cas is waiting to see if Kat wakes up.

Hidden behind a cut for reasons.

It's been a rollercoaster couple of days. A very tame rollercoaster, but as much as I enjoy riding them, I prefer to not have to live one.

Preface to the following - I drive a Fiat 500e, a small car to be sure, but it is also BRIGHT ORANGE.

The Bad:
Driving home from work, I was changing lanes. Someone nearby decided to change lanes as well and apparently didn't see me already there, and as we all learned from high-school physics, two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. I saw the other car first and managed to avoid major damage, but the front passenger side fender is dented pretty badly, the fender is scratched, and opening the passenger door pops against the fender. The other driver was very nice, we were more concerned about each other than what happened, so that was nice :)

The Good (for varying values of...):
The next day driving home from work (I should really just work from home if my job would allow it), I'm driving down a hill heading into town and not paying attention to my speed - I was probably thinking about the progress of the claim for the accident above - when for the first time in at least 5 years, a cop was staking out the hill. There was a car next to me on the left, both of us going the same speed, so when the cop put his flashers on, we didn't know which one of us he was going after. I guess the other guy figured it must be them, and also must not have seen me and swerved into my lane to pull over, almost hitting me on the OTHER SIDE. Unfortunately, the cop pulled me over instead, but after witnessing almost being hit AND the damage from being hit yesterday, let me off with a warning. W H E W.

So, yeah, I have damage to my pretty little orange Fiat (leased, btw) but insurance should pay for it, and I'm expecting the other person's insurance to pay my deductible, so all will be well. But I really could have done without the added stress on a week that started out as badly as this one did.
